Dear Classmates and Associates,

At the recent Mini Reunion in Hong Kong we were pleased to discover that there were a surprising number of us who were skiers: either Alpine downhill or Nordic cross country. So as a result we offered to coordinate a Princeton Adirondack Mid-winter Mini Reunion February 7-11 2011. It will be held in the Adirondacks at Gore Mountain in North Creek New York with lodging at the Friends Lake Inn in nearby Chestertown NY. This venue is about 85 miles North of Albany NY and is readily accessible via I-87. The idea is to combine downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, sleigh rides, with comfortable conveniently located lodging and dining, into a real fun event.

Friends Lake Inn Chestertown NY

We have chosen The Friends Lake Inn as our headquarters for the Reunion. It is an Adirondack Inn with luxury lakeview accommodations, imaginative New-American cuisine, a superior world class wine collection and its own onsite cross country ski & snow shoe trails and ski rental shop. The Inn has seventeen rooms both traditional and Adirondack style. It is located about 20min drive from Gore Mountain over main roads that are well plowed in the wintertime. For non skiers there are interesting shops and historical sites at nearby Warrensburg and Lake George Village. We personally visited the Inn in April 2010 and met the Innkeeper John Phillips. We are quite confident that you will really like the accommodations . The website www.friendslake.com gives all the details on the Inn (John & Trudy Phillips Innkeepers) 518-494-4751. For reviews of the dining see http://reviews.opentable.com/0938/239345/category.htm . Our discounted rate for the Traditional rooms is $299/night double occupancy including breakfast and dinner and for the Adirondack Rooms it is a discount of $75/night from the listed rates. Cross country skiing and snow shoe and equipment rentals are included in our group rate.

Gore Mountain North Creek NY

Gore Mountain in the Adirondacks is one of the biggest ski areas in the Northeast. It has a vertical drop of 2300ft, 96 trails including 15 glades and eight snow shoeing and cross country trails. The area is 10% beginner, 60% intermediate and 30% experts and has 12 lifts including a Gondola and high speed quad and triple chairs. For super seniors over 70 skiing is free. See www.goremountain.com which has an extensive downloadable brochure. We have skied here and it’s a great area without crowds. For the advanced cross country and snow shoe folks Garnet Hill Lodge is nearby. Garnet Hill has advanced trails, instruction, guides and a very large well equipped lodge and rental facility see www.garnet_hill.com Gore Mountain is a twenty minute car ride from our lodging at the Friends Lake Inn.
